Bi State Paranormal is a comprehensive paranormal investigative group. We are based in St. Louis Missouri and will do whatever it takes to prove or disprove the existence of ghost, spirits , and any other paranormal events. We are made up of mostly skeptics that want answers and concrete proof, not just stories and orbs made of dust particles and strands of hair blowing over a camera flash. We will also review any property and or tour and post our review on our website.

Mineral Springs Hotel
Alton Illinois
Hosted by Janet, the owner of Mineral Springs Tours
Guided by Wayne Hensley, a shop owner in the hotel who has spent the past 27 years working at Mineral Springs
The cost of the tour is thirty dollars, which I feel for a ghost tour is a little high. However, the tour lasted four hours, the staff was super friendly, and snacks and drinks were provided. The night included a tour of the Mineral Springs property, a complete history of the building and of all of the paranormal happenings in the building. There was some really good examples of EVPs that have been captured at Mineral Springs. We also participated in a séance in the pool, and everyone was even given a tarot card reading at the end of the night. We were also able to walk through a small museum in the building that held various torture devices that have been used throughout history. Janet walked us through the museum, giving us interesting facts about the different devices. So, Mineral Springs really was worth the price of admission.
Paranormal Activity: As for the paranormal activity in the building, it was hard to say. The night that we attended it was pouring down raining and that created a lot of false orbs and extra debris in the air. However, while down in the basement one of our investigators got a really heavy feeling on his shoulders and then got sick to his stomach after walking through one of the archways. After walking to the other side of the basement he was fine. When another member of the team tried to photograph the area, her camera locked up then went dead. The image she took with her camera was unreadable, which was the only time that that has ever happened to any of our investigators. Mr. Hensley said that although it is unexplainable, some guests on the tour find that their camera batteries become drained in certain parts of the building and sometimes cameras act up as our investigator's did.
The Séance: The séance took place in the pool area. It lasted for about ten minutes, but nothing happened. I believe that it could have been conducted in a better way. Mr. Hensley was in charge and did a very good job running it, however after he had no luck making contact with any of the spirits, I felt that he should have let everyone in the circle systematically try to make contact or ask a question of the spirits. I feel that this would have increased the chances of making contact or catching an EVP.
Overall Tour: I would give this tour 4 out of 5 stars. I felt that it was entertaining and intelligently produced. I felt that they weren't trying to falsify anything that wasn't really there. I think that Janet and Wayne believe everything that they are telling you, but they don't try to be mediums or clairvoyants. They simply share their experiences of what has happened to them and others at Mineral Springs. They are down to earth and real people and I must say that our group really enjoyed the tour and would love to go back to investigate further.

Lemp Mansion
St. Louis, Missouri
Hosted by Betsy Belanger, Resident Spirit Guide/Medium
The tour, which is held on most Monday nights and costs fifteen dollars, lasts about two hours and covers most of the mansion. It includes a lengthy and interesting history lesson on the Lemp family and the house. It also includes a dark room session, where the spirits of the Lemp family are contacted, usually in one of two third floor rooms. You are also given the opportunity to use dowsing rods at the end of the tour.
Paranormal Activity: The paranormal activity in the house is minimal at best. Betsy does make contact with Lemp family members, but you have to take that for what it's worth. Also its a dusty house, so as usual you will get a lot of orbs in your pictures. She does play one EVP, but it's shaky at best. Our team did have one incident happen on our third Lemp tour that involved the alarm clock in Zeke's room. You can check that picture out on the Jan. 7th, 2008 page of investigations.
The Dark Room Experience: It's all a bit hokey and hard to believe. Betsy sees ghosts and tries to point them out to you, but the majority of visitors don't see anything, except for Betsy herself and the weak minded. I am not saying that she doesn't see ghosts, I can only say that I myself and my team never saw anything.
Overall Tour: At best I would give it 2 out of 5 stars. Betsy is very nice and truly believes everything that she is telling you. The history about the mansion and family is very interesting, and is very well presented. However, I think that the tour is more about Betsy and her ability to speak to the dead than about the house's actual paranormal activity. I have never spent a night in the mansion and maybe that would change my thinking, but as of right now the house is weak on paranormal activity.
McPike Mansion
Alton Illinois
Owned by Sharyn and George
Located in Alton, Illinois
Our night started at around 9pm in a pouring down rain storm and we were met by Sharyn. After giving us an extra umbrella and offering us coffee, we began transferring all our equipment inside and started setting up. Our team was charged $25 a member and although the area we were allowed to access was small,( the basement and cellar) Sharyn and George went above and beyond to accommodate us by placing our IR cameras up in the house on the three different floors, and Sharyn gave our team a complete history of the house and property. She also told us stories of her experiences in the house and what other people have experienced.
Paranormal Activity: The investigation lasted from 9 pm to 2 am. Our night started off great, within the first hour Scott, Clint, Greg and Kenny had a group paranormal event happen to them. As they were seated in the cellar they all heard a "baby" or a "cat cry" sound come from inside the cellar area; this sound was also caught on recorders & video. The rest of the night was filled by our team doing EVP sessions and breaking off in different teams and taking photographs in the cellar and basement. Although no one from the team experienced anything major the rest of the night, upon reviewing the evidence we caught some good pieces of evidence that can be viewed in our full report.
Overall experience: Our team enjoyed the time we spent at the McPike Mansion. If the funds are ever raised to complete the full renovation I think it has the potential to be an amazing bed and breakfast. Sharyn and George are both wonderful people that really did everything they could to help our team out. They are genuine people and succeeded in making our experience a good one. Our team will definantly go back.
Jumpin Jimmy's
Bella Villa Missouri
This is a great place. It is a restaurant and bar located in a house that has been at one time or another a Brothel, City Hall, boarding house, and a restaurant and pub. It is loaded with paranormal activity and as far as I know we are the first official investigating team to do an investigation on the property. To the best of knowledge it is truly haunted and has male and female spirits. They like to touch people and play tricks on them. During our last investigation we believe we identified one of the spirits as Ruby Kramer, a once owner of the restaurant & bar in 1955.
